Our school

Welcome

On behalf of our school community, I extend you a warm welcome to Fyans Park Primary School, where we all work together to nurture each student to ensure they reach their full potential in all aspects of life.

As a school of choice for families in our area, we are proud of the learning community which we have created. Our school values of Respect, Resilience, Innovation and Collaboration underpin our commitment to providing our students with educational opportunities which will enrich them academic, social and personal skills. I feel very fortunate to lead a group of highly dedicated and passionate teachers who work tirelessly to maximise student achievement and ensure that the school motto of ‘My Best Each Day’ is brought to life on a daily basis in all classrooms.

Fyans Park Primary School is a community-minded school with strong community links, and is supported by a committed Staff, School Council, Parent Association and Student Voice Team.

As a staff, we understand the preconditions required to be part of a high-performing school:

1. Evidence-Based Practice: we aim to deliver evidence-based learning for our students by actively engaging in professional learning, maintaining up-to-date assessment data, accessing reliable sources of professional information, utilising the school’s data centre to support both peers and students and documenting achievements, actions, and evidence through Compass, our schools integrated online portal.

2. Project Based Learning’ is a key approach to teaching at Fyans Park Primary School. Our philosophy is founded on delivering an integrated curriculum that encourages inquiry while being developmentally appropriate to your child.

3. Positive partnerships with the home where teachers and parents work together to ensure the best possible learning environment for our students. Regular student and teacher conferencing and ongoing communication with parents are important elements of the school’s reporting process with 5 week progress reports provided for families.

4. Responsiveness: we act promptly to support all students, staff and community members, through providing timely information, taking action with a positive mindset, informing relevant others of our actions, and promoting a collective responsibility for teaching and learning.

We pride ourselves on the open and friendly community atmosphere and our school is proud of what we offer. I invite new students and families from our local area to contact the school for further details or to arrange a tour.
