The Music program at Fyans Park embraces all the aspects of the Performing Arts and is offered to students from Foundation to Year 6. The program promotes singing, playing instrumental music, performance, dance, drama and creative music making. Students perform at our weekly assemblies and we showcase our skills with a whole school concert taking place every second year. Students from Years 3-6 also have an instrumental focus, learning skills on the recorder, keyboards and guitars.

We offer a dedicated and spacious Music room and have class sets of these instruments, as well as tuned and untuned percussion instruments. Year 5-6 students have the opportunity to be in the school choir and perform at community events throughout the year. Music is integrated into classroom Project Based Learning units. This is an integral component of developing students’ performing arts skills.

Our students become confident performers and learn stagecraft. They also use digital technologies to improvise, compose and create music, with our BYOD (bring your own device) iPad program. The Music program is designed to encourage students to be innovative, creative, skillful and confident as performers and to give each student the opportunity to enjoy and embrace the wonderful aspects of the arts curriculum.
