Tournament of Minds (TOM) is a problem solving program for teams of students from across the world, resolving challenges from a choice of disciplines including Language Literature, Social Sciences, STEAM and The Arts.

Fyans Park participates in this innovative and engaging program at a Year 5/6 level to encourage critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration in a competitive environment and high level communication skills. Over 6 weeks, students work in groups to complete a ten minute presentation to solve a long term challenge. They present to a panel of external judges who evaluate skills such as creativity, team work and performance skills.

Whether competing against local schools, at State Finals, or in the Australasian Pacific Final, Fyans Park students represent our community to a high standard and show considerable growth in their academic, social and emotional capabilities. Participation in TOM plays a big part in developing Fyans Park’s school culture of collaboration, inspiration and innovation.
